Don Bosco Vyawasaik Prashikshan Kendra was filled with an atmosphere of patriotism and unity as the
students had a brief celebration of India’s Independence Day. The staff and the students
commemorated the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and celebrate the spirit of freedom and
democracy.
Mr. Gaurav Chaudari, the CSR Executive of Schaeffler India graced the occasion with his presence. Mr.
Chaudari has worked closely in strengthening the ties between Schaeffler and Don Bosco and in assisting
the training of the students who avail of the courses offered at Don Bosco.
In his address at the function, Mr. Chaudari challenged the young students to use their time creatively
and constructively. He pointed out that though the country has gained its freedom, its citizens continue
to be shackled by the chains of the present challenges, namely, social media. He invited the students to
observe how much time they spend on their phones aimlessly scrolling through feeds, and urged them
to take up the task of making good use of the time given to them. Fr. Anton D’Souza, the Rector, also
added to this telling the students that their youthfulness is itself brimming with vitality. He advised them
to achieve their full potential by a controlled and organized use of time.
Along with the flag hoisting by the chief guest, the students along with the staff also sang a patriotic
song honoring the freedom fighters who fought zealously for the freedom of our nation. The
celebrations came to a close with a small fellowship meal with the staff and students.
