International Yoga Day @ Don Bosco Chinchwad

 

Yoga has been an ancient practice that helps in maintaining a healthy physical, mental, and
spiritual well-being. To help promote the practice of yoga, to spread awareness over the
benefits of yoga, and in commemoration of International Yoga Day, Don Bosco Vyawasik
Prashikshan Kendra, Chinchwad organized a small practical session for their students.
Mr. Nilesh Chandgude, the Principal, introduced the students into the benefits of yoga and how
it helps one to become a better person integrally. He spoke of how yoga has now become a
mode of exercise practiced internationally. Some of the benefits mentioned was that yoga helps
one to become patient and calm while also aiding in keeping the body healthy and alert. He
encouraged the boys to take yoga as a morning routine and to witness the benefits firsthand.
Mr. Chandgude mentioned that yoga also helps promote mental clarity, emotional balance and
spiritual growth. In today's fast-paced and stress-filled world, cultivating these qualities becomes
essential for maintaining overall well-being. He further emphasized that yoga offers a unique
blend of physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation, which
work together to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit. By integrating yoga into their daily lives,
students could experience improved concentration, reduced anxiety, and enhanced overall
vitality.
Mr. Gajanan Panchal, a certified yoga trainer and an instructor at the institute, guided the
students into a few basic exercises in yoga. He also introduced them to the practice of
controlled breathing when doing yoga. Some of the basic exercises taught were to help the boys
gain better mobility and control of the various muscles in their body.
In conclusion, the practical session organized by Don Bosco Vyawasik Prashikshan Kendra,
Chinchwad, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, proved to be a valuable opportunity for
students to delve into the practice of yoga. WIth the very informative session, the students
gained insights into the multifaceted benefits of yoga and experienced the transformative power
of this ancient practice.
